  1. Declutter: Go through each room and declutter belongings that you no longer need or use. Donate or discard items as appropriate.

  2. Dust: Dust all surfaces including furniture, shelves, baseboards, and ceiling fans. Don't forget to dust behind and underneath furniture.

  3. Clean Windows: Wash windows inside and out to remove dirt and grime. Don't forget to clean window screens and sills.

  4. Wash Curtains and Blinds: Remove curtains and wash them according to the manufacturer's instructions. Dust or wash blinds to remove accumulated dust and debris.

  5. Vacuum and/or Mop Floors: Vacuum carpets and rugs thoroughly, paying attention to corners and edges. Mop hard floors to remove dirt and stains.

  6. Clean Light Fixtures and Ceiling Fans: Dust and wipe down light fixtures and ceiling fans to remove accumulated dust and dirt.

  7. Sanitize High-Touch Surfaces: Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, remote controls, and countertops to remove germs and bacteria.

  8. Deep Clean Kitchen Appliances: Clean inside and outside of appliances such as the refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Remove and clean refrigerator shelves and drawers.

  9. Scrub Kitchen and Bathroom Surfaces: Clean countertops, backsplashes, sinks, and faucets with appropriate cleaners. Scrub grout in bathrooms to remove mold and mildew.

  10. Clean and Organize Cabinets and Drawers: Remove items from cabinets and drawers, wipe down surfaces, and reorganize items as needed.

  11. Disinfect Trash Bins: Clean and disinfect trash bins both inside and out to remove odors and bacteria buildup.

  12. Clean Upholstery and Furniture: Vacuum upholstery and spot clean stains as needed. Use upholstery cleaner on fabric furniture and polish wood furniture.

  13. Wash Bedding and Linens: Wash and change bedding, including sheets, pillowcases, and comforters. Clean mattress covers, pillows, and duvets as needed.

  14. Clean and Sanitize Bathrooms: Scrub toilets, sinks, showers, and bathtubs with appropriate cleaners. Clean mirrors and replace shower curtains or liners if necessary.

  15. Clean Air Vents and HVAC Filters: Remove dust and debris from air vents and replace HVAC filters to improve air quality and efficiency.

  16. Organize and Clean Closets: Declutter clothing and accessories, donating or discarding items you no longer wear. Wipe down closet shelves and organizers.

  17. Clean Pet Areas: Wash pet bedding, toys, and bowls. Vacuum pet hair from furniture and floors, and use pet-friendly cleaners to clean floors and surfaces.

  18. Inspect and Clean Outdoor Areas: Sweep and clean outdoor patios, decks, and furniture. Power wash siding, driveways, and walkways to remove dirt and grime.

  19. Clean and Organize Garage: Declutter and organize tools, equipment, and storage in the garage. Sweep floors and remove any cobwebs.

  20. Inspect and Clean Gutters: Remove debris from gutters and downspouts to ensure proper drainage and prevent water damage.

Spring cleaning can be a big undertaking, but it's a great opportunity to refresh and revitalize your home for the season ahead.
